Boston Vacation         10th of June to 24th June 2018

About

Boston was all a bit last minute planning as we had hoped to be going to Philadelphia but unfortunately, it was just to expensive this year which I think was down to them filming Creed 2 which is a follow-on to the Rocky movies from years ago so the backup plan was for Beantown.

I had spent around 8 months fine tuning Philly but had also been looking at Boston as well, it's always best to have a backup plan. We only booked it for about 6 weeks in advance and even though I had worked out what places to visit they still needed putting into some sort of order and the transport how to get around the city. It can take us longer than average to get to places so this is something I spend a lot of time on, in the past we've had to backtrack to places a few days later which takes up even more time as well as effort.

Another thing I try to plan is interlocking days so if the weather is bad morning then it can easily get switched to something inside if it's only a half day. Sometimes it can be raining on one side of a city but not the other or we could have had a day trip out further afield, all this is what I spend my time doing in the pub at weekends as well as working out were the hills are and the best and easiest way to get to the top.

Something else I have tried to do in this blog makes it a more customized layout within the posts and pages, in previous blogs I've mainly use png images to create graphics and so on, now it was about time I learnt some basic CSS coding to make it more visually appealing with borders around text boxes plus scrolling text and the like which is so much easier if you create and write it as HTML code, this also applies to the photo and video pages where simple changes in the embed code will make it scale correctly in the browser, one of the things that were really bugging me was the maps that are embedded within each post. It turned out it was just as simple as changing the width ratio to 100% and leaving the rest as it was, this also came into good use when embedding videos.

Thanks for reading.
